Águas do Rio reported that this Monday (05/06) the replacement of the section of the network that contributes to supplying the neighborhoods of Queimados, Japeri and Nova Iguaçu, as well as the Center and North Zone of the city of Rio de Janeiro, is being carried out. A leak that occurred last Thursday (02) in one of the pipelines of the Ribeirão das Lajes System, in Guadalupe, in the community of Muquiço, is impacting water distribution in these locations.
The affected regions in Queimados are: Industrial District, Jardim Campo Alegre, Jardim da Fonte, Parque Industrial, Parque Olimpo, Piabas, Pinheiro, Parque Ipanema, Eldorado, Fonte Cova, Grande Rio, Jardim São Miguel, Jardim Magnólia, Jardim Santa Rosa, Jardim Vista Alegre, Parque Valdariosa and Valdariosa
In Japeri, the following neighborhoods are being affected: Cidade Jardim Marajoara, Cidade Sr. Do Bonfim, Citrópolis, Eldorado, Marajoara, Morro Citrópolis, Parque Guandu, Parque Mucaja, Parque Santos, Santa Terezinha, Belo Horizonte, Centro, Engenheiro Pedreira, Eucaliptos, Jardim Primavera, Jardim São João, Nova Belém, São Jorge, Transmontana and Vila Central
In Nova Iguaçu, the supply is impacting the Jardim Guandu, Prados Verdes and KM32 neighborhoods.
Águas do Rio also informed that the normalization of the supply of treated water in these regions will occur, gradually, within 72 hours after the completion of the service, scheduled for this Tuesday (07/05).
The concessionaire advises that customers in locations with impacted supply keep water from cisterns and water tanks reserved for priority activities, until the supply is regularized, and highlights that it remains available on 0800 195 0 195, which works for free calls and messages via WhatsApp.
