Quissamã joins in solidarity with those affected by the floods in Rio Grande do Sul | Quissamã

Quissamã – In the scenario of the devastating flood that devastates the state of Rio Grande do Sul, leaving more than 1.4 million people affected in 425 municipalities as of this Thursday (9), the city of Quissamã mobilizes in solidarity. The City Hall, in partnership with the Post Office, is launching a campaign to collect donations to help those affected by this climate tragedy.

The mayor of Quissamã, Fátima Pacheco, highlights the importance of this gesture of solidarity, highlighting that everyone’s collaboration is essential in this moment of adversity.

“In this difficult time, all of Brazil is united in support of Rio Grande do Sul, and in Quissamã it couldn’t be any different. We need to come together to help our brothers in need, providing the basics for those who have lost everything. The partnership with Correios is fundamental, as it ensures that our donations reach the right destination”, emphasized Fátima Pacheco.

The manager of Correios de Quissamã, Ney Leal, details the donation process, informing that contributions can be delivered directly to the city’s Post Office, located at Rua Visconde de Quissamã, nº 304, in the Center, from 9am to 5pm .

“Different types of items are welcome, from water and cleaning supplies to bedding and pet food. Any form of help is extremely valuable and will make a significant difference in the lives of those who have been affected by this calamity. Donations collected in Quissamã will be forwarded to Benfica and, later, sent to Rio Grande do Sul”, highlighted Ney Leal.

The storms that have hit Rio Grande do Sul since April 29 have already resulted in 107 deaths, with 136 missing and 374 injured. The tragedy affected more than 1.4 million people, according to data updated this Thursday (9).
