Requests 21 thousand million pesos for the purchase of aircraft – El Financiero

The Government requested, through the military business group Olmeca-May-Mexica, 20,871 million pesos for an investment plan that contemplates the acquisition of twenty aircraft for the Mexicana operationthe Mexican State Airline.

The investment plan, requested before the Treasury, estimates that 1,605 million pesos are necessary for the acquisition of aircraft this year.

For the following year, the new administration from the airline will have to commit more than 5,815 million pesos; In 2026, the cash flow from the budget will have to exceed 6,615 million pesos; and by 2027, the amount will rise to 6 thousand 835 million pesos.

The investment, the Army application says, plans to “promote, exploit and provide the public service of regular national and international air transportation of passengers, cargo, mail or a combination of these; Likewise, the operation and provision of the national and international non-scheduled public air transport service will be promoted.

“The project consists of the acquisition of aircraft, as well as the ground support equipment and tools necessary for its operation,” details the request submitted to the Treasury Investment Portfolio.

It should be noted that for this year, the Government only requested 119 million pesos for the operation of the line air, which were approved by Congress.


On the other hand, Mexican estimates losses of more than 20 billion pesos between 2024 and 2027.

Mexicana de Aviación needs 196 thousand million pesos to operate for 20 years

The investment project of the Mexican State Airline estimates that the military company Mexican Aviation will require a cash flow of more than 196 billion pesos for the next four six-year terms.

According to the estimates of the Airport, Railway, Auxiliary and Related Services Group Olmeca-Maya-Mexica (GAFSACOMM), The airline company will depend on the treasury from 2024 to 2027.

To reach the break-even point, the government will require investments of more than 20 billion pesos, which will translate into losses for Mexicana.
