Campos – The revitalization of the Historic Center of Campos dos Goytacazes (RJ) involves not only public safety; but, a set of actions that can make the central region of the city more attractive to tourist interest and increase movement in local commerce. This is the municipal government’s proposal, summarized by the municipal secretary of Tourism, Patrícia Cordeiro.
On Wednesday night (24), an integrated action involving several municipal bodies was
started, with general washing of Praça São Salvador and cleaning of gutters, in addition to inspection and review of poles and public lighting points. The work is coordinated by the Department of Tourism.
“Today we are starting this task force; there are several teams, several departments involved”, highlights Patrícia Cordeiro, reporting that the importance of the revitalization is that the center of Campos has immense historical relevance: “It is a place of great tourist interest and is literally the center of economic development”.
Making what is already a heritage of the municipality more comfortable and attractive is the summary of the purpose of the services, according to the secretary who highlights: “The initiative is so that people walking through the center, going to do their shopping, can also contemplate a part of the our story”.
The demands were defined last Friday (19), by the working group. Road signs are on the agenda; parking; street vendors; improving infrastructure; stimulating local commerce and public safety. The work is carried out at night, so as not to disrupt commercial activity or traffic in the city center.
The task force includes, in addition to Tourism, the departments of Works and Infrastructure; Social Communication; Economic development; Urban planning; Mobility and Environment; Public services; Posture Department; Municipal Institute of Traffic and Transport; Public order; and Municipal Civil Guard.
