Rio faction criminal: arrested by the Federal Police in Niterói with help from Cisp Disclosure/Ascom

Niterói – A criminal fugitive from Justice and belonging to a criminal faction in Rio de Janeiro was arrested, this Thursday (9), with the help of the Electronic Fencing of the Integrated Public Security Center (Cisp). There are three arrest warrants against the man for the crimes of robbery and rape. He has 10 other criminal records for robbery, murder and rape. This week alone, six vehicles were recovered with the help of Cisp. In total, more than 500 vehicles that were cloned or involved in crimes have already been identified by the system.
Last week, federal police officers asked the City Hall’s Public Security Center to include the alleged license plate number of the vehicle used by the criminal, which was then tracked. The vehicle passed through Niterói a few times and was tracked by the Electronic Fence. This Tuesday (7), the car was located on Avenida Feliciano Sodré. The suspect was arrested.
It was found that the man lives in the community of Salgueiro, in São Gonçalo. Through collaborators, a possible vehicle that would be used by the fugitive was identified. The man was taken to the Niterói Federal Police Station to carry out the necessary procedures and is at the disposal of the Court.
Since 2015, the Integrated Public Security Center has helped in the investigation and elucidation of crimes that also led to the arrest of criminals, in actions guided by the municipal guards who work there. There were more than 3,700 image exports to police stations and courts of justice. Cisp’s work has already become a reference, being sought after by members of the security areas of other states and municipalities who visit Niterói to learn about the work.
Niterói City Hall and the Federal Highway Police (PRF) also have a cooperation agreement to combat crime and prevent violence. The 120 Electronic Fence cameras in 2019 were capable of recognizing fragments of license plates, letters and numbers. Now, after training the robots, they can recognize colors. The expansion of the system went into operation in April after a period of testing.
Almost 500 vehicles involved in crimes or cloned were recovered thanks to Electronic Fencing. These were real-time actions, with warning to the security forces that made the arrests. There were also actions to monitor gangs or those involved in crimes for subsequent arrests. Cisp also has 522 electronic devices.
In the Niterói City Hall space, state, federal and municipal security forces work in an integrated manner, in addition to the Fire Department, NitTrans and Civil Defense. Cisp provided the greatest reduction in crime ever recorded in the city in the last 20 years. The reduction reached 80% in indicators of theft, vehicle theft, violent fatality, among others.
