Three members of the well-known Russian metal band Korrozia Metalla were detained this Saturday (28), during their concert, on charges of displaying “Nazi symbols”, authorities said. The group’s members, aged 19, 42 and 57, were accused of “propaganda or public display of Nazi accessories or symbols”, said police in the city of Nijni-Novgorod (west).

“The police, with the support of the national guard, detained three members of a musical band in a club in Nijni-Novgorod,” the force added in a statement.

The charge is usually punishable by a fine or brief administrative detention.

Police said they seized T-shirts and books with “prohibited symbols.”

The band’s representative, Maria Rounova, told the TASS news agency that the items in question were “ancient Slavic symbols”.

The group’s leader, Sergei Troitsky, commented on social media that his drummer fell into a coma after being attacked by “three henchmen”.

Images shared on social media show security forces invading the concert hall and forcing the audience to lie down on the floor.
