Russian woman is rescued in Brazil after consulate interventionDisclosure

A woman of Russian nationality was rescued by the Civil Police of Minas Gerais following information sent by the consulate following reports of crimes of domestic violence. The suspicion is that a 38-year-old woman was physically, emotionally and psychologically attacked by her 35-year-old partner in the municipality of Coração de Jesus, in the interior of the state.
The action was carried out by the team from the Specialized Police Station for Women’s Assistance (Deam), which received information from the Consul of the Russian Federation in Belo Horizonte. This statement detailed the crimes committed against the foreigner.
The victim and her daughter, a two-year-old child, were rescued in Montes Claros, during a periodic trip that was carried out to withdraw funds sent by the woman’s family.
According to the Civil Police, the victim was found in a situation of extreme psychological vulnerability, with bruises on his body and was weakened. After the action, agents took the woman to the Medical-Legal Center for a physical injury examination.
To the police, she declared that the suspect was obliged to hand over all the money she received from her Russian family members. The amounts, according to her, were later spent by the man on alcoholic beverages. Given this, the woman decided to seek help from the consulate, which intervened and contacted the Brazilian authorities.
According to police information, the victim declared that she started the relationship with the attacker while still in Russia. Then, about three years ago, she came to live in the interior of Minas Gerais and, in Brazil, the couple’s daughter was born.
Now, the Civil Police has launched an investigation to investigate the crimes of domestic violence, illegal harassment, bodily harm, threats, and insults carried out, in theory, by the person being investigated. Protective measures were requested and the victims are under police protection in a safe location.
