Students enrolled in the PĂ©-de-Meia Program, who were born in January and February, will receive the second installment of R$200 this Thursday. The program was created to encourage retention and completion of high school.

Deposits will take place until May 3rd, depending on the beneficiaries’ date of birth.

The first installment, paid at the end of March and beginning of April, was related to the enrollment incentive. This time, the amounts will be credited to the accounts of students who maintained an average attendance of 80% in the three academic months, according to control carried out by the education networks.

According to the Ministry of Education, 2.5 million high school students will have the right to receive the incentive, as there will be no interruption of the program in cases where attendance submission was not adequate. An ordinance published last Monday (22) adjusted the deadlines to improve the sending of information by education networks, through the Present Management System (SGP).

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva also announced the expansion of the program with the inclusion of students who are part of families registered in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico).

With the new cut, an additional 1.2 million high school students will receive the incentive. Added to the Bolsa FamĂlia program participants already covered, the program will reach 3.7 million young people.

If they meet the requirements for permanence and attendance in high school, these students will receive annual payments of R$3,000, which can add up to R$9,200 in three years in incentives, as participation in the National High School Examination (Enem ) guarantees a final contribution of R$200.
