Rio – The “Super Tour” show by singer Jão, initially scheduled for May 11th, at Riocentro, in Jacarepaguá, in the West Zone of Rio, was postponed due to a disagreement between the Convention Center and the production company 30e, responsible for organizing the event. The termination occurred after both being indicted by the Civil Police for the electrocution death of João Vinicius Ferreira, aged 25. The young man was the victim of an electric shock on March 9, during a music festival produced by 3e and held in Riocentro.

In a post on social media, the singer’s team said they had no alternative other than postponing: “In recent days, we were informed that, for external reasons, Riocentro could no longer host the Super Tour show, which was scheduled for May 11th.” And he continued: “We had no choice. We know how bad these changes are, but we reiterate that your well-being is above anything else and will always be our priority”, he said.

Riocentro removed the event from its agenda. The Eventim platform also blocked ticket sales. The singer apologized for the “inconvenience” that the change of location and date may cause to fans. There was no information about possible refunds for fans who had already purchased tickets. There is also no information about the new location or date of the show in Rio.

“The Super Tour show will now take place at a new date and location, which will be announced very soon, due to the completion of the contractual procedures. It is a larger space, known for hosting major national and international shows and which will certainly provide an experience worthy of what you deserve. Safer and grander”, he concludes.

In response to the news that the postponement was motivated by an alleged court decision, Riocentro said that “there is no impediment of any kind regarding the holding of external events at the Complex” and that the cancellation of the singer’s show occurred “for specific reasons related to the producer, responsible for the entire organization”. The Ferrugem show is still scheduled for June 2nd.

This is the second show on the tour that was suddenly postponed. On April 2, he announced the postponement of the presentation that was scheduled for the 6th, at Arena Fonte Nova, in Salvador, following a decision by the stadium administration. The presentation would take place one day before the final of the Bahia championship. The show was rescheduled for the 24th of the same month.

Indicted for death at concert

At the end of April, the Civil Police of the State of Rio de Janeiro (PCERJ) indicted 14 people for involvement in the death of João Vinicius Ferreira Simões, who was electrocuted after pulling into an energized food truck during the I Wanna Be Tour music festival, .
Among those indicted are the coordinators and supervisors of the event, organized by the production company 30e, electricians, owners and managers, as well as engineers and technical managers at the Riocentro convention center.
