Today Madonna takes the stage on Copacabana beach for what is considered the biggest show of her career, with 1.5 million people expected. The latest survey released on Thursday (2) by HotéisRio shows that the average occupancy rate in Copacabana/Leme is 95.95%; while the city also has a high average of 83.72%. Procon-RJ is already taking action, with guidance for tourists who arrived at the city’s two airports, as well as inspection of kiosks and hotels, with the right to be on duty from 10am to 7pm. “Rio’s waterfront provides a nutritionist regularly to provide guidance at the kiosks”, explained Procon-RJ inspection director, Elisa Freitas. But when Madonna says goodbye to the stage, she will leave behind a political controversy: “Should the public authorities have invested taxpayer money in this show or not”? There is a pre-candidate who guarantees that he will take the issue until election day, since City Hall has invested R$10 million. However, the expectation is that Madonna’s arrival will boost Rio’s economy by R$300 million.
