Soaking rains hit Chicagoland overnight. Sunday could be wet again, but it won't be cold

Thankfully, Chicagoland avoided real severe weather with the line of storms that rolled through overnight Saturday into Sunday.

But there was plenty of rain, with some areas seeing up to 2 inches.

Temperatures have remained warm early Sunday morning and will stay that way throughout the day, although it won’t get quite as warm as Saturday.

The sun could even peek out at times, but more showers are expected to return later Sunday, through the overnight hours into Monday’s morning commute. There is a slight risk for severe weather, but the main threat in Chicagoland will be heavy downpours.

Temps will remain mild going into the work week, with things drying out and temps reaching near 80 by mid-week as May begins.
