There has been a bit going on at the Rabbitohs this week. A coach is gone, arguably the game’s greatest coach is on the verge of a return and the left-field option of Michael Cheika is also in the mix. Wayne Bennett’s CV needs no repeating in this dispatch. The one thing we can say about Cheika is this – the bloke won something with the Waratahs. If you can do that, you can do anything.
If we park the Rabbitohs off-field dramas for a minute, they also have an on-field issue tonight. The triple-champion Panthers are still going at half-rat (or even half-panther) power so far this year and they’re already at the pointy end of the ladder. Four titles on the bounce is looking a good bet right now. (Come on betr, bring back last year’s $101 promotion).
