Southeastern services disrupted between Tonbridge and Hastings due to melted track at Tunbridge Wells

Rail passengers are stuck and services have been hugely disrupted following a power supply failure at a major Kent railway station.

No Southeastern services are currently running between Tonbridge and Hastings due to electrical supply problems at Tunbridge Wells.

The power supply at the busy railway station has been cut off due to a melted track part.

Due to the outage, no services can currently run at Tunbridge Wells and services on the Hastings line are being disrupted.

Network Rail confirmed on X, formerly Twitter, earlier a melted “conductor pot” is behind the the issue which means powers to Southeastern trainshas had to be switched off.

Bosses at Southeastern also took to the social media service to inform passengers of delays.

“Because of a failure of the power supply at Tunbridge Wells, services on the Hastings Line are disrupted,” they wrote.

“No services can currently run via Tunbridge Wells, while staff work to restore the power supply.

Southeastern has confirmed that replacement buses have been ordered, but currently have no estimated time of arrival.

One frustrated passenger commented online: “I’m stuck at Tonbridge with over 100 passengers and no staff have any idea what is going on.

“Now in a queue for a bus to Tunbridge Wells but no confirmation on how to get back to Hastings.”

Another added: “Some updates would be nice… I’m wondering if I will ever get home.”

Network Rail say they are working “as quickly as they can” to resolve the issue.
