The governors of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), and of Goiás, Ronaldo Caiado (União), participated in a demonstration in support of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) in Ribeirão Preto this Sunday, 28th, while Agrishow, The country’s main agribusiness fair held its opening ceremony in the presence of vice-president Geraldo Alckmin (PSB) and the Minister of Agriculture, Carlos Fávaro (PSD).

Bolsonaro, Tarcísio and Caiado will go to the fair this Monday, 29th. Agrishow adapted the program and avoided new friction: the official ceremony started to be held on Sunday, with the presence only of authorities, guests and the press, while the opening of the event for the general public continues on Monday. The organization denies that the change is related to the 2023 episode and says that the new format will bring “great benefits for everyone by holding (the opening) outside the normal operation of the fair”.
Caiado and Tarcísio are identified as possible successors to Bolsonaro in the 2026 presidential election. The former president is ineligible until 2030 by decision of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE). While the Goiás native does not hide his desire to run for office, the governor of São Paulo signals that his desire is to be re-elected to the Palácio dos Bandeirantes. At the beginning of the week, they participated in a panel promoted by Esfera Brasil that had the air of an electoral debate, with the two presenting their views on topics such as security and public accounts.
This Sunday, Bolsonaro held a motorbike and was greeted by shouts of “myth” when he arrived at the sound truck that was prepared for his speech. In addition to Tarcísio and Caiado, federal deputy Ricardo Salles (PL-SP) and other allies accompanied the former president at the event in Ribeirão Preto.

The former head of the federal Executive also said that it is necessary to turn the page on defeat in the 2022 election and stated that the Lula government lacks popular support. “The life of an ex is not easy. But I am the most loved ex in Brazil,” Bolsonaro told supporters.
