Taylor Swift has announced the first single from her much anticipated new album “The Tortured Poets Department.”
In a post on “X” Thursday, the singer-songwriter revealed that Fortnight, featuring Post Malone, will be her first song release. She also announced that the song’s music video will be released Friday night.
“I’ve been such a huge fan of Post because of the writer he is, his musical experimentation and those melodies he creates that just stick in your head forever. I got to witness that magic come to life firsthand when we worked together on Fortnight. Honestly can’t wait for you guys to hear this song at Midnight TONIGHT and see the video at 8pm ET TOMORROW,” Swift wrote.
Ahead of her album release, Swift has been leaving Easter eggs — in the form of QR codes — for her fans all over the world. Here in Chicago, a giant mural popped up on the side of a building in River North that linked fans to a Youtube short of a typewriter typing the letter “T.”
Swifties from all over have been sharing the letters with each other, and found out the letters, in fact, spell out “Fortnight.”
The artist’s 11th studio album drops midnight Friday.
