How many heat waves are left to reach Mexico?

The Mexican Government foresees at least five heat waves between March and July, which is why it recommended that the population take precautions to prevent damage to health such as heat stroke and sunburn.

The Ministry of Health reported that “from March 17 to April 6, 95 cases associated with health damage due to high temperatures have been recorded, of which 63 are due to heat stroke, 26 due to dehydration and six due to burns.” The agency also confirmed the first death due to heat stroke in Mexico.

Specialists recommend avoid prolonged exposure to sunlightespecially between 11 in the morning and 3 in the afternoonwhich is when the greatest solar radiation is recorded.

Likewise, they advised staying in cool places, hydrating with plain drinking water, consuming fruits and vegetables, and not consuming alcoholic beverages or drinks with high sugar content because they produce dehydration.
