River – The 16th edition of Rio Artes is arriving with full force in the heart of Rio de Janeiro. The fair, which will take place from April 24th to 28th, 2024 at the Expomag Convention Center, in Cidade Nova, is one of the main celebrations of the creative economy in the State of Rio. With a focus on promoting business and management models originating from knowledge and creativity, the event stands out as an important driver of work and income, consolidating Rio de Janeiro as a leader in this sector.
In this edition, Rio Artes brings a new repositioning of the brand, covering several areas of the national creative economy, including crafts, fashion, decoration, health and gastronomy, in addition to addressing management pillars of entrepreneurship and cultural expression. The event will have a diverse program that promises to please all audiences, with activities for PWDs, young people and much more.
According to a survey carried out by the National Industry Observatory (ONI), one million new jobs will be generated by the creative economy by 2030, increasing the sector’s share of the Brazilian GDP. Currently, the creative economy employs 7.4 million workers in Brazil, a number that could reach 8.4 million in 2030, according to data from IBGE’s continuous PNAD.
Attractions for the whole family
Rio Artes 2024 offers a wide range of activities for the whole family. In partnership with Clube Empreendedor Brasil, the event will host entrepreneurship courses for young people aged 8 and over. Partner social bank ACREDITA will also be present, offering loans and a selection system focused on the potential of entrepreneurs.

The fair’s commitment to training remains strong, being a reference in this aspect. In partnership with SENAI CETIQT, Rio Artes offers courses to meet the demand for seamstresses in the fashion industry. Senac will also participate with a training space, offering gastronomy, fashion, well-being workshops, a DJ workshop, commercial space and lectures.
In the health sector, a beauty center in Caxias by Faetec will offer beauty and aesthetics courses. In addition, the Department of Culture will be present with an exhibition of cultural crafts from across the State of Rio de Janeiro, in addition to cultural attractions, dances and music on the Arts Stage, a fashion show, lectures and debates.
The nights will be lively on the SESC Stage with performances by renowned artists and fashion shows. On the 24th, 26th, 27th and 28th of April, starting at 6pm, there will be the Palco Sesc Project with Brazilian popular music. On the 25th, the fair dives into the Portuguese scene with Noite de Portugal, including folk dance performances and Noite do Fado with singer Maria Alcina.
In the gastronomic area, the space will feature several food trucks offering flavors from different countries, providing a true culinary experience to the public present.
