In just 13 years, the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) has been able to increase its control to such a level that it already has a presence throughout the American Unionaccording to United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEAfor its acronym in English).
Within its National Drug Assessment 2024, The agency warned about the rapid growth of this criminal organization.
“Since its formation, around 2011, from the remains of the Milenio Cartel, affiliated with the Sinaloa Cartel, the CJNG has become completely independent and now operates beyond the borders of Mexico, with presence in dozens of countries around the world and in all 50 states of the United States“, he explained.

The agency also highlighted that “CJNG is active in more than 40 countries in South America, Asia, Europe and Africa. “They have become competitive in these profitable markets very quickly, given that their rival, the Sinaloa Cartel, had more than 30 years of advantage as a drug trafficking organization,” he said.
