The sympathies that Máynez (don’t blame yourself if you think of that viral little song) is garnering, mainly among youth, must be highlighted. A public that, by the way, is immersed in a large part of the almost 20 percent of undecided towards June 2.
That is why Máynez is now the enemy of the opposition. In this sense, the narrative of the PRI coalition has focused on asking Máynez, whom they did not see as a serious enemy in the electoral contest, to join the Gálvez campaign, with whom they have something in common: both do not agree. They hoped to be presidential candidates.
Let us remember that the “natural” candidate of Movimiento Ciudadano for “the big one” was Samuel García, who was stopped by his local Congress, in his attempt to seek the presidential seat just two years after taking office as governor of Nuevo León.
After Marcelo Ebrard’s rejection of the orange movement, and their reason for not nominating its founder and president, Dante Delgado, the most viable option for a political group that in these elections only seeks visibility, was Álvarez Máynez.
For her part, Xóchitl Gálvez’s work as an opponent of the Fourth Transformation from the Senate of the Republic, with everything and the dinosaur costume and other occurrences, earned her the candidacy of the amalgam formed by all the politicians of the old guard, and after an internal process, where it became clear that even Beatriz Paredes would be a better candidate, she was given the benefit of the doubt. She is seeking, as we have pointed out in other installments, to retain the majority of the votes to guarantee a place as multi-member members for the “priandilla” that accompanies her.
Evidently, the attention that Máynez has received as a result of the unsuccessful invitation to decline is another achievement of his campaign, which shows the desperation of Gálvez and company.
They will monitor refineries
Despite the progress that has been made in the National Refining System (SNR) during this government, Claudia Sheinbaum’s team recognizes that more can be done, which is why they are talking about implementing high-level technical committees that carefully review what that has been carried out in terms of maintenance actions, seeking to continue increasing productivity.
Let us remember that the six Pemex refineries in Mexican territory reached a level of oil production of one million 98 thousand barrels per day, of which 350 thousand were gasoline. Without a doubt, an important achievement, which must be ‘tied’ so that it lasts.
