The Guanajuato Prosecutor’s Office identified and captured the armed group that killed two paramedics and caused damage to three ambulances in the Valle del Real and Álamos colonies, in Celaya, Guanajuato.
It was April 22, 2024, when armed individuals shot and killed two paramedics and burned their ambulance with them inside.
Almost simultaneously, the attack and burning of two other ambulances was reported; In this second incident there were no victims.
That afternoon it was reported that two paramedics from a private service ambulance were attacked by gunfire. The crime was perpetrated by unknown individuals who were apparently traveling on motorcycles.
After attacking the two paramedics with bullets, The subjects set fire to the ambulance, with the two victims inside.
The event occurred on Gregorio Guelatti and La Esperanza streets, next to the temple of the Santísima Trinidad, between the Girasoles and Valle del Real neighborhoods.
Elements of Celaya Firefighters and municipal police who worked to control and put out the ambulance fire.
When firefighters managed to put out the flames, they discovered that two charred bodies were inside the ambulance.
The bodies were in the driver’s and co-pilot’s seats of the ambulance. The paramedics were identified as Jesús and Víctor.
The scene of the double homicide was processed by agents of the State Attorney General’s Office, who began investigations to clarify this tragic event.
Municipal and federal authorities deployed operations by air and land to find those responsible for the murder of the two paramedics.
Just as the operation was being deployed, a report was received of a second attack against two ambulances from the private service.
It was known that Unknown assailants attacked an ambulance with bullets and the other was set on fire with an explosive device.
The two ambulances of the private service were parked in a private area of the Flor de la Primavera street, in the Los Álamos neighborhood.
In this second incident, no victims were reported, but considerable material damage was reported. The attacks were recorded almost simultaneously and barely a kilometer apart.
Guanajuato Prosecutor’s Office investigates hitmen
On the night of this Wednesday, May 1, through social networks, the Prosecutor’s Office reported that “the Guanajuato Criminal Investigation Agency obtained information and elements of evidence that prove that they (the detainees) intervened in said criminal events.” and it is being investigated whether they have participated in other criminal acts recorded in the area.”
The Prosecutor’s Office, for the moment, has not reported the number of detainees or their identities.
“The Agent of the Public Ministry is compiling the corresponding folder, in order to bring the accused before the competent authority so that their legal situations can be resolved,” the Guanajuato Attorney General’s Office.
