They identify 3 possible victims of Miguel ‘N’ – El Financiero

The Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City (FGJ-CDMX) confirmed the identification of three possible victims of Miguel ‘N’, the feminicide of the 17-year-old girl, María Joséarrested last April in Iztacalco when he tried to escape.

The head of the capital’s prosecutor’s office, Ulises Lara Lópezannounced the progress of the case related to the chemist who graduated from the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN), who would be related to at least six more femicides.

Through a statement, the office manager revealed that, after the search of his home and derived from the procedures carried out by the public ministry and investigative police, the identity of three possible victims could be confirmed, whose remains were found in the house where Miguel ‘N’ lived.

“The families of the three identified victims have already been duly informed of the results and are aware of the progress in the investigation. For them, our solidarity and all the commitment of this Prosecutor’s Office to seek an exemplary punishment for this person,” indicated Lara López.

Likewise, he reported that work is already being carried out to identify the remains of two other people located at the site. He added that the results will be announced once a genetic sample of the accused is compared in order to compare it with various indications found in the investigations.

“I want to point out that we have made important progress in the criminological profile of the accusedas well as a timeline, which we will make known, as due process allows us, once all the probable victims have been fully identified,” the prosecutor detailed.


He added that as part of the proceedingsMiguel ‘N’ was also subjected to an exhaustive interview, in the presence of his defense attorney. In turn, he highlighted the support of the DNA Bank, which, he said, “has been of great support in this investigation, to obtain scientific, reliable and accurate results.”

The María José case, the feminicide that uncovered other murders of women

Miguel ‘N’, 39, was arrested last April 16th in the Iztacalco mayor’s office, after attack María José and her mother in his apartment located in the La Cruz neighborhood.

According to the report from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC), the teenager’s mother arrived at the apartment and when trying to defend her daughter, Miguel ‘N’ injured her with a knife in various parts of the body.

María José died after the attack and her mother was hospitalized due to neck, back and lung injuries. Miguel tried to escape after the events, but the police managed to capture him.

Days later, during a search of the aggressor’s home, prosecutors found various Bone remainsa saw, official women’s IDscell phones, compact discs and a USB memory.

“The evidence located at the site by ministerial personnel, investigative police agents and experts assigned to the Investigation Prosecutor’s Office for the crime of Femicide of the General Coordination of Investigation of Gender Crimes clearly indicate the existence of a possible serial feminicidewho would be involved with the disappearance of several women reported to the Prosecutor’s Office for Investigation and Search of Persons,” Ulises Lara reported in a message to the media on April 19.
