The second debate between the candidates for the head of Government of CDMX It took place this Sunday night, in an almost “carbon copy” of what was the first clash between Clara Brugada, Santiago Taboada and Salomón Chertorivski.
The two leading candidates, Brugada and Taboadafollowed the same strategy: attacking each other from the beginning, with accusations that flew from one side to the other, and with attempted proposals that were left without going deeper, since the temptation to cross attacks ended up winning over the explanation of their projects.
Likewise, both the representative of the PRI-PAN-PRD coalitionlike the standard bearer of Morena-PT-Verde, refuted each accusation by telling each other of lying in their statements, and challenged each other to present proposals for the accusations that one made to another.
While, Solomon Chertorivsky He seemed more relaxed and although he also did not miss some opportunities to attack Brugada and Taboada, the representative of the Citizen Movement focused on presenting various proposals on the two topics that were addressed in the Second CDMX Debate: water and the fight against corruption.
Throughout the debate, the candidates used graphics and photos to accuse themselves of different alleged crimes and improper acts, in the same way, Chertorivsky presented two banners from Brugada and Taboada, criticizing the generation of garbage and the consumption of financial and water resources for the generation of this plastic propaganda.
What did the candidates say about the water issue in CDXM?
One of the most complicated issues facing Mexico City is the shortage in water supply, derived from the low levels of the dams that supply the Cutzamala Systemin addition to contamination in some wells.
In this sense, Clara Brugada said that if she wins the elections, the residents of the capital will have water and proposed regenerating lakes. “We will fight corruption, huachicoleo and the Real Estate Cartel,” he said.
While, Santiago Taboada He assured that he will make the largest investment in the issue of water, in addition to creating a system that will capture rainwater, repair leaks and treat the water.
Solomon Chertorivsky He said that to collect water, rivers and forests must be recovered, for which he proposed reopening the Río de la Piedad, through which the Viaduct passes, in addition to recovering the water forests in the southern area of the capital.
‘Grabs’ by the water
In the accusations that were made on the issue of water, Santiago Taboado accused Clara Brugada of selling pipes in Iztapalapato which the Morenista candidate did not respond, despite being reiterated on several occasions.
On the part of the Morenista, she accused Taboada of not having moral authority, because he did not give results as mayor of Benito Juárez and reminded him of the corruption case of the Real Estate Cartel.
Finally, Chertorivski stressed to them that 22 days have passed since the contamination of wells became known and that both Morena and the PRIAN blame each other, but do not resolve the matter.
What were the proposals in the fight against corruption?
In this area, the accusations were even greater, Clara Brugada focused on reiterating all the accusations about the Real Estate Cartel and highlighted the closeness of the detained and fugitive officials in this case with Santiago Taboada.

Salomón Chertorivski said that corruption costs 60 billion pesos and affects the life and coexistence of the capital’s residents. “I have been in public service for 25 years and I have not had a single accusation of corruption. Clara and Taboada have benefited from corruption,” he mentioned.
