Rio – Tite revealed that he made a mistake in the draft he gave Gabigol during Flamengo’s victory over Amazonas 1-0, on Wednesday night (1st), for the Copa do Brasil. The coach highlighted that the attacker should have more time on the field and explained what made him use number 10 ahead of schedule.
“First I did the recognition in physical terms. I was wrong to have put in such a long time in the game. It was my mistake. Why? Because I was out for a long time, and I exposed it, but the need of the game does it. I have no problem to admit it. I thanked him for his willingness, but it was less time than he had for the game, and I wanted to use more time, even for this mobilization. It was my mistake”, said the coach.
Gabi’s last game was in the 2-0 victory over Fluminense, in the Campeonato Carioca, on February 25th. There were, therefore, 66 days without playing a match.
In tonight’s clash, against Amazonas, Gabigol entered the field in the 19th minute of the second half. The striker replaced Uruguayan De La Cruz.
