Volta Redonda – As of Wednesday (24), 47 new parking meters will come into operation in Volta Redonda, to expand service to users of rotating parking, which operates in the neighborhoods of Vila Santa Cecília, Aterrado and Avenida Amaral Peixoto, in the Center. The installation was carried out in partnership between the city hall, through the Data Processing Company (EPD), and the company VR Parking, which manages the operation.
According to the CEO of EPD-VR, Edvaldo Silva, the objective of implementing parking meters is to offer service users another form of contracting, complementing other modalities, such as apps, monitors and points of sale.
“The objective is to make it easier for the user when hiring the service or settling any pending issues. Currently the application for cell phones and smartphones is the most used option (62%), and now the parking meter is added as another technology to help the driver use the service”, explained Edvaldo, adding that, currently, users of rotating parking They have 50 monitors and nine points of sale for service.
Payment by credit or debit card
The new parking meters will accept credit and debit cards as payment methods, in addition to traditional currencies. The equipment has a panel demonstrating how to use it. At the end of the operation, a ticket is issued, proving the payment made.
“In addition to drivers who already use rotating parking, such as residents and people who work in the city, for example, the parking meter will also benefit those who come from other regions to visit the city and do not use the application”, added the CEO from EPD.
