The weather stay gloomy this weekend and the start of next week should be in line with this. However, a change could take place from Wednesday May 8, the first day of the long bridge which also includes Ascension the next day, as well as the Friday closed in schools, before the weekend.
Meteo France table for five days in a row with significantly clearer skies. This is just a trend, so take it with caution. But it has gradually become more refined over the past few days. And, as the deadline approaches, it is confirmed more and more. An alignment of the planets should take place, between vacation periods for many French people, blue skies and rising temperatures.
The 25°C mark crossed during the weekend
Wednesday May 8 should see the sun dominate a large part of the country for most of the day. However, a large north-eastern quarter of the country and the Pyrenees would see rain arrive in the afternoon.
Thunderstorms could form in the South-East. But this would be the only time on this long bridge. In terms of temperatures, the upward movement initiated during the previous weekend should continue with around twenty degrees in the north of the country and a little more in the southern part, i.e. in season averages.
From Thursday May 9 (map below), the sky could be clear in all or almost all regions. This situation could last until Sunday May 12. Temperatures would increase by another 2°C or 3°C, rising above seasonal norms. Occasionally, the Alps could experience some showers over this period.
During the weekend, temperatures could rise another notch. They would reach or even exceed the heat threshold, set at 25°C, in most regions. It would therefore be between 5°C and 6°C warmer than average.
Beyond this deadline, the trend is much more vague. As much as most weather models would tend to agree that temperatures should remain seasonal, if not a little above. As much as they differ completely on the presence of sun, rain or violent storms.
