Weekend weather in France: two beautiful and warm days almost everywhere before the return of storms (): 7-day forecast

The weekend will punctuate a sequence of several days with clear skies and sometimes unseasonably warm temperatures. After a morning during which temperatures are not expected to drop below around fifteen degrees in the plains, the heat threshold set at 25°C will be reached in a very large part of the country. The maximums will reach 24°C to 26°C in the north of France, a little less in the Manche department. This is 5°C warmer than the season average and this corresponds to a day in midsummer. In the South, the thermometer will remain a little below 25°C near the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. Elsewhere, it will be a little above 25°C. It will peak in the South-West, inland, with around thirty degrees in places. These are values ​​above the average for the hottest times of summer and almost ten degrees higher than normal values ​​for mid-May.

Sunday: the sky is getting cloudy from the South-West

The day will be a copy and paste of the day before in most regions, until the evening. However, all of New Aquitaine will be an exception. From the morning, rain and storms will take place there. They will reach western Occitanie as well as the junction of the Centre-Val de Loire, Pays de la Loire and Normandy regions in the afternoon.

Everywhere else, the sky will remain generally clear. Temperatures will range from 22°C to 25°C in the north of the country. They will be lower in Brittany and the Channel. In the south of the country, they will range from around twenty degrees to 25°C in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

Between the end of the day and the evening, storms become widespread. Only the South-East and the Atlantic coasts would be spared. They could be locally strong. Some will remain active overnight from Sunday to Monday.

Rainy start to the week and significantly less hot

The first days of the week promise to be very wet, even more so from Tuesday. This situation will go hand in hand with a sharp drop in temperatures. They could peak around 17°C in the north of the country. They will often be nearly 5°C lower than the seasonal averages. In the south of France, the thermometer could struggle to exceed 20°C and would even remain closer to 15°C, particularly in the South-West. The deviation from the average could reach 6°C or 7°C. And the difference with the hot and sunny weekend will be all the more marked as the sun will be absent, accentuating the feeling of freshness.
