Abraham Oseguera Cervantes, alias ‘Don Rodo’was released during the early hours of this Tuesday April 30 for irregularities in his detention.
In an interview with Azucena Uresti, his lawyer Víctor Beltrán narrated what these inconsistencies were at the time of his capture and why ‘El Mencho”s brother left the El Altiplano prison, located in the State of Mexico.
‘Don Rodo’ He was arrested in the municipality of Autlán de Navarro, in Jalisco. His defense assured that the arrest occurred during the early hours of last Sunday, when elements of the National Guard (GN) were carrying out a surveillance tour.
The GN realized that there were people with weapons outside a home, so they entered the gate to arrest them, after they had supposedly taken refuge in the home.
What were the irregularities in the arrest of ‘Don Rodo’?
“There are several inconsistencies such as that it was at 3:30 in the morning and they forgot that there were cameras surveillance in the neighbors’ houses, who had no problem providing the videos,” said the lawyer.
In the images no people are seen outside the house and the moment in which the National Guard arrives and enters by force was recorded.
“There they enter and look for the family that was asleep., they break the door and subdue his son. Upstairs ‘Don Rodo’ was with his daughtera girl under 10 years old with Down syndrome, who was very scared,” said the lawyer.
Víctor Beltrán also assured that Abraham Oseguera had recently undergone cancer surgery and suffers from different diseases such as hypertension and diabetes, which is why he moved with difficulty.
“He drags his feet and that’s how they take him away”he added and said that the defense presented 28 videos in total, but the Prosecutor’s Office only reviewed 7.
In addition, he accused that ‘Don Rodo’ was still imprisoned by direct orders from President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who asked that he not be released just because he was the brother of Nemesio Oseguera alias ‘El Mencho’, leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).
