Every day thousands of inhabitants of the Mexico state They waste a lot of time traveling from their homes to their jobs, but fortunately this problem will be resolved because a new transportation system will be inaugurated. We are referring to the Metro Mexiquense Public Transportation System or Metromex.
This was announced at the beginning of the year by the head of the Ministry of Mobility of the State of Mexico, Daniel Sibaja, since this project promises to be the most ambitious in the history of transportation of that entity.
What is Metromex?
The Metromex It will be a massive public transportation system that It will have an extension of 220 kilometers.
This means of transportation It will be made up of light rail and tram lines which will also connect with the Mexibús and Mexicable services.
How much money will access to the Edomex Metro cost?
So far the Ministry of Mobility of the State of Mexico has not revealed the price exact that will be paid to travel on the Metromex.
But It is expected that the cost of the ticket will be between 10 and 9 pesos per persona rate very similar to that charged for the services of Mexicanable and Mexibus which is nine pesos.
What will be the Metromex route?
Although the Metromex routes have not yet been revealed, it is projected that one of the sections of this means of transportation will connect the municipality of Tepexpan with the Martín Carrera station on Metro Line 4; This place has a connection with Line 1 (Pantitlán-Observatorio); Line 5 (Pantitlán Polytechnic); Line 6 (Martín Carrera – El Rosario); Line 8 (Garibaldi – Constitution of 1917); Line 9 (Tacubaya – Pantitlán); and with Line B (Ciudad Azteca – Buenavista).
The objective is transform mobility for the inhabitants of the State of Mexicoso it is considered that Metromex will also have connectivity with Toluca.

It is expected that very soon the governor of the State of Mexico, Delfina Gómez, will announce more details about routes and areas through which this new means of transportation will pass.
Hummingbird Plan in Edomex
This mobility project is part of the Colibrí Plan which has the purpose of substantially improving the quality of life and the safety of Mexicansas well as reduce travel times.
This plan is made up of the following 10 axes:
- The creation of the Colibrí anti-corruption line to effectively address citizen complaints, requests and suggestions that are presented in the Mexican public transportation system
- Safe transfer operations in the main red lights to protect users and operators
- Installation of regional working groups and the implementation of a patching program
- Single mobility card mexiquense that can be used in Mexicable and Mexibús
- Construction of the Mexicable in Naucalpan and the implementation of Metromex
- Conclusion of the Chalco-Santa Marta trolleybus
- Expansion of the cycling network through the “Hummingbird on Wheels” plan
- Harmonization of the Mobility Law with others and supervision of the application of the technical standard for cranes
- Creation of three routes that will connect Ciudad Azteca, Pantitlán and Tezoyuca with the Texcoco Lake Ecological Park
- Prevention and care of gender violence crimes on the public transport network
