Which countries dominate the Mexican cartels? – The financial

The DEA launched a map that explains the extent of drug cartels in the United States, a country that is experiencing a crisis derived from the consumption of opioids such as fentanyl, which has claimed the lives of nearly 100,000 people a year.

During its National Drug Threat Assessment this year, the DEA charged that Mexican cartels have profited from the production of synthetic drugs, with the Sinaloa Cartel and the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) those that have the greatest importance, not only in the United States but in nearly 40 countries.

Both cartels would be responsible for the largest drug consumption crisis in the history of the United States, which for years has accused that the precursors of synthetic drugs arrive from China, and that it is through the laboratories in Mexico that they are produced. They finish manufacturing the drugs for the country governed by Joe Biden, which would be the largest market.

California, Arizona, Texas, New York and Florida are some of the states most affected in the United States by the presence of cartels, according to the DEA indictment, which offered a report on the activity of both cartels in the country and in the rest of the world, highlighting the progress that both criminal organizations maintain despite maintaining a strong rivalry for years.

The presence of the Sinaloa Cartel and the CJNG in other countries

These are the notes made by the DEA regarding the presence of the Sinaloa Cartel and the CJNG:

Sinaloa Cartel

First he highlighted that the Sinaloa Cartel divides into four factionseach led by Joaquín’s sons, ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán, Los Chapitos, as well as his brother Aureliano Guzmán Loera, Ismael ‘El Mayo’ Zambada and Caro Quintero respectively.

He also highlighted that two of its main activities are the production of fentanyl and methamphetamines, exposing the drugs to a market that covers different countries and continents and being one of the DEA’s target organizations to contain the drug crisis that the United States is experiencing.

He also reported about the control of the Sinaloa Cartel over various ports throughout the countrywhich range from Ensenada and Mazatlán in the Pacific Ocean, to Matamoros and Veracruz in the Gulf of Mexico.

The presence of the Sinaloa Cartel is in 47 countrieshighlighting the United States, China, Thailand, New Zealand.

Its presence in Central and South America is of great importance for the creation of drugs and their transfer to markets like the United States and New Zealand. Furthermore, specifically in the European market, there is knowledge of the series of operations in African countries for intercontinental drug trafficking.

CJNG

The first aspect that stood out DEA regarding the Jalisco New Generation Cartel is that it does have a leader, who is Rubén Oseguera, also known as ‘El Mencho’and is the head of a franchise system, in which semi-independent organizations are created that can have criminal organizations, something that has worked for their extension throughout the country, as well as generating alliances in conflict zones like Guerrero.

Although it does have operations related to fentanyl and methamphetamine, the CJNG’s main activity is not synthetic drugsbut with cocaine, heroin and marijuana, drugs that have helped him invest in opening up markets in Europe, Japan and Australia.

It has a presence in nearly 40 countries across continents such as South America, Europe, Africa and Asia. Some of its operations range from the trade of fentanyl precursors to China, as well as cocaine trafficking from ports in Colombia, Peru and Bolivia.

In The United States has a greater presence in cities like Los AngelesPhoenix, Houston, Chicago, Atlanta and Miami.
