Which states will exceed 45 degrees this weekend? – The financial

Mexico is experiencing one of the hottest weeks of the year, driven by the second heat wave of the hot season, which has the 32 states of the country with forecasts of maximum temperatures above 30 degrees for the next few days.

This weekend it is expected that high temperatures continue and that some entities even register maximum temperatures higher than 45 degrees with thermal sensations of up to 50 degrees.

Due to the rise in heat records Maximum temperatures of up to 48 degrees have been reported, which poses challenges ranging from environmental contingencies, drought, as well as recent scheduled blackouts due to lack of power reserves and with the aim of preventing the National Electrical System from collapsing.

It should be noted that this Thursday, May 9, the Mexico City reported its hottest day on recordwith a record high of 34.3 degrees.

High temperatures are expected to continue throughout the week, with the north and southeast of the country being the most affected regions.

Which states will hit 45 to 50 degrees this weekend?

In the middle of Mother’s Day weekend, it is expected that the states that face temperatures above 45 degrees be:


  • Sinaloa, Michoacán, Guerrero, Oaxaca, Chiapas, Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosí, Veracruz, Tabasco, Campeche and Yucatán.

In the rest of the country, Temperatures will continue to be high and these are the forecasts of the climate according to Conagua:

  • Maximum temperatures of 40 to 45 degrees: Sonora, Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Morelos, Puebla, Hidalgo, Nuevo León and Quintana Roo.
  • Maximum temperatures of 35 to 40 degrees: Baja California, Baja California Sur, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Durango, Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, Querétaro and State of Mexico.
  • Maximum temperatures of 30 to 35 degrees: Tlaxcala and Mexico City.

As for the rains, the presence of precipitation is expected in these states:

  • Intervals of showers with occasional heavy rains (25 to 50 millimeters): Chiapas and Tabasco.
  • Shower intervals (5 to 25 millimeters): Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, Veracruz and Puebla.
  • Isolated rain (0.1 to 5 millimeters): Coahuila, San Luis Potosí, Tlaxcala, State of Mexico, Mexico City and Oaxaca.
