Whirlpool contributes to the improvement of homes in Monterrey – El Financiero

Safe and decent housing continues to be a desire for many people. However, in Mexico 22% of homes do not meet the necessary conditions to be habitable, according to the latest National Housing Survey of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi).

Aware of this reality, Whirlpool Corporation carried out this May 2 in the La Alianza neighborhood, Monterrey, a volunteer day in which it carried out work to replace tin roofs with cement to provide decent housing to families in this community.

This initiative was carried out by Habitat for Humanity, a global organization that focuses on improving access to safe, resilient and affordable housing in communities around the world.

This year, the alliance between Whirlpool Corporation and Habitat for Humanity turned 25, during which time the company has donated more than $144 million in funds and 242,000 products to families benefited by the alliance in the eight countries where they operate. , among which are the United States, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Argentina and Brazil.
