Will Tláloc win the Double Hoy No Circula? This is the rain forecast for CDMX and Edomex – El Financiero

Will Tláloc save the day? In the midst of an environmental contingency, the rains this afternoon could clean the sky of the Valley of Mexico and thus achieve the suspension of the Double Not Circulating Today in CDMX and Edomex.

For the next few hours, it is expected isolated showers and rain in several regions and municipalities of the metropolitan area, as well as electric shocks and winds of up to 40 kilometers per hour, according to the climate report of the National Meteorological Service (SMN) of the National Water Commission (With water).

It is worth remembering that this Friday, May 3, the Environmental Commission of the Megalopolis (CAMe) activated the phase 1 of Environmental Contingency Atmospheric due to poor air quality recorded at the monitoring stations of Tlalnepantla, Atizapán and Cuautitlán, where at 3:00 p.m. a maximum ozone concentration of 166 ppb was reported.

Conagua reported that in the State of Mexico (Edomex)rains with showers and electric shocks are expected in the following municipalities:

  • Tlalnepantla
  • Tultitlan
  • Nezahualcoyotl
  • Zumpango
  • Ecatepec
  • Texcoco
  • Chimalhuacan
  • Amecameca

While in the Mexico City (CDMX)the municipalities that will be able to ‘cool off’ with isolated rains and possible discharges are:

  • Cuajimalpa de Morelos
  • Miguel Hidalgo
  • Alvaro Obregon
  • Magdalena Contreras
  • Tlalpan
  • Coyoacan
  • Cuauhtemoc
  • Venustiano Carranza
  • Gustavo A. Madero

The second heat wave enters Mexico: Which states will be the most affected?

The second heat wave of the 2024 season is already here and threatens to “melt” much of the national territory. It is expected that temperatures reach 40 C° in at least 18 entities from the country.


According to the SMN, the second heat wave began this Friday, May 3, and will prevail in the coming days. In the case of CDMX, Conagua reported that during this afternoon a maximum temperature record at the Tacubaya Observatory for May 3.

The last time this type of extreme heat was reached was in 2002, when a temperature of 32.5 degrees Celsius. However, throughout this day, the thermometers reached the 33.0 degrees.

  • Maximum temperatures above 45 °C: Michoacán, Guerrero, Oaxaca, Chiapas, Veracruz and Tabasco.
  • Maximum temperatures of 40 to 45 °C: Sinaloa, Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosí, Morelos, Campeche and Yucatán.
  • Maximum temperatures of 35 to 40 °C: Baja California Sur, Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Durango, Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, Querétaro, Hidalgo, State of Mexico (southwest), Puebla (north and southwest) and Quintana Roo.
  • Maximum temperatures of 30 to 35 °C: Baja California, Mexico City and Tlaxcala.
