Xcel Energy is addressing a gas leak caused by construction workers accidentally hitting a gas line in Longmont.
According to Longmont Public Safety spokeswoman Robin Ericson, around 1 p.m. Monday a construction crew accidentally struck a gas line at Ninth Avenue and Pace Street.
The gas line has been shut down for safety reasons and it’s still unclear how long it will take to repair, said Ericson.
However, the repair is expected to take more than two hours, according to Longmont Public Safety’s Facebook post.
Xcel Energy was not immediately available for comment.
