Rio – The jockey Maikon Mosque, 21 years old, suffered a serious fall during a race at the Hipódromo da Gávea, in the South Zone of Rio, on Monday night (22). He was treated on site by a medical team on duty at the Jockey Club Brasileiro (JCB) and was taken to the Miguel Couto Municipal Hospital.
In a statement, the Brazilian Jockey Club reported that the boy underwent a CT scan this Tuesday morning (23) and, following the result, the doctors will decide whether surgery will be necessary or not. He also said that his health condition inspires care.
The broadcast on the JCB channel, TV Turfe, recorded the moment when Maikon fell from the animal during the second night race on Monday (22). The channel’s narrator even reported during the broadcast that the jockey was conscious and talking to the nurses and doctors on duty. See the images:
