Regarding the owner, veterinarian Henrique Cardoso informed RBS TV that it is not yet known who exactly owns the animal. According to him, several people presented themselves as owners, but were unable to confirm their veracity.
I know there must be a lot of people wanting to give him a home… But know that we really want to too! There’s room for Caramelo to be very happy, live free and receive lots of love at the Ranch, right? @brunogagliasso? https://t.co/RgOHClPkjz

Guys, I don’t have the contact details of the people who are taking care of Caramelo.
I informed people who helped with the rescue about my interest in adopting him, but so far I have had no response.
If you could let them know, I would really appreciate it. I want to bring him to RJ and give him the life of a King.

Five days islanded
Filmed on Wednesday (8) on a roof trying to escape the floods that sank the city of Canoas, in Rio Grande do Sul, Caramelo became the target of popular appeals for him to be rescued. On Thursday (9), firefighters from São Paulo and the military mobilized eight boats to rescue the animal.
The operation began at 6:00 am and was completed after five hours. To remove the horse, the rescue team had to sedate it and place it in one of the boats. The rescue was considered risky due to both the conditions of Caramelo (which had been stranded for at least five days) and the roof (made of zinc and slippery).
Caramelo (yes, it’s Caramelo!) was rescued! After five days on the island, the horse was rescued by the Fire Department and brought to the Ulbra Veterinary Hospital, where it will receive all the treatment with great care from our entire team. ❤ pic.twitter.com/8IALfdev9z

According to Captain Augusto Moscardi, veterinarian of the Military Police of the Federal District, in an interview with GloboNews, it was also necessary to be quick to take him to dry land, since an animal as large as Caramelo, which weighed around 350 kg, cannot lie down for a long time.
