JOLIET, Ill. — Convicted murdered Drew Peterson made a court appearance Monday morning.
In 2012, Peterson was convicted of murdering his third wife, Kathleen Savio
The former Bolingbrook police sergeant has filed a petition to overturn that conviction, claiming he was denied effective legal representation because his lawyer didn’t testify in the trial.
In court Monday, a judge granted a request to have Peterson undergo a fitness evaluation.
He is scheduled back in court on March 6.
