Firjan points out that Niterói is the second municipality in the State in terms of hiring | Niterói

Niterói – The municipalities in the East Fluminense Region followed the positive results of job creation in the state. According to Firjan’s analysis, carried out by the Retratos Regionalis platform, the accumulated balance of the 16 cities in the region had an increase of 209% in the supply of jobs, from January to March this year (+5,195), compared to 2023 (+1,680). During the period, growth was also observed throughout Rio de Janeiro, with the creation of 43,364 vacancies, a higher result than in 2023, which had 31,470. The federation points to the best first quarter since 2020, the beginning of the Novo Caged series, used as a basis for the analysis.

The results were based on March records. In 2024, across the state, there were 24,466 hires in the month. In the regional analysis, after the Capital, Leste Fluminense was the one that generated the most jobs in the period, with 3,472 new vacancies, which represents 48% more than March last year. Niterói was the second municipality in the state ranking after the Capital, with the highest number of formal hires in the monthly analysis, concentrating 1,673 vacancies in the region.

“The records show us at each period the growth potential of the region that has been contributing to the state’s economy. The East continues on a positive historical series, a result of the diversified market performance that we have across the region’s municipalities”, highlights the president of Firjan Leste Fluminense, Ricardo Fernando Guadagnin.

In the analysis by sector, Services stood out most in the Eastern Region. 2,848 vacancies were created, most of them for Human Health Care Activities (+1,043), Education, considering hiring for Early Childhood, Elementary and Higher Education (+550), Construction of Buildings and Incorporation of Real Estate Projects (+265), Land Transport (+205) and Services for Buildings and Landscaping Activities (+200).

The Industry sector (+305) was the second largest contractor in the region, with activities linked to the Maintenance and Repair of Electrical Machines and Equipment, Construction of Vessels and Floating Structures, Construction of Clothing Parts, Metallic Structures and Collection of Waste Not Dangerous. The Commerce (+182) and Construction (+139) sectors were also those that saw hiring records in March in the East.

In the quarterly analysis, the Industrial sector also stands out in the state

The Industrial sector (+15,854), which includes the Transformation, Extractive, Construction and Public Utility Industrial Services industries, was the second largest contractor in the state in the year. The segments linked to Construction (+9,623) were the main highlights, along with Maintenance, Repair and Installation of Machinery and Equipment (+1,868). Agriculture (-119) and Commerce (-6,526), ​​in turn, accumulated a negative balance in the first months of 2024.

Hiring profile

Of the 43,364 vacancies created this year in the state of Rio de Janeiro, 30,560 (70.4%) were for workers with high school education. For workers with higher education, there were 8,750 (20.2%) vacancies.

In the analysis by occupational families, the most demanded professionals in the first quarter were Agents, assistants and administrative assistants (+6,854), Workers in building maintenance services (+5,944), Civil works assistants (+3,265), Secondary level teachers in early childhood education (+2,782), Production line feeders (+1,926), Secondary level teachers in elementary education (+1,575), Student inspectors and the like (+1,539), Nursing technicians and assistants (+1,344), Doormen, watchmen and the like (+1,338) and Receptionists (+1,281).

On average for the quarter, the admission salary for the state of Rio de Janeiro was R$2,167.61. Among the sectors, emphasis on Industry (R$ 2,483.19) and the Services sector (R$ 2,239.12). The average entry salaries in Agriculture and Commerce were R$2,047.13 and R$1,734.46, respectively.
