Rio – Fluminense brought forward André’s return to Rio de Janeiro so that the midfielder could begin treatment for the injury he suffered in his right knee in the match against Cerro Porteño. The 22-year-old will be evaluated and Tricolor will later announce the severity of the injury. The information was given first hand by “GE” and confirmed by Newspaper O Dia.
André’s situation is worrying because the player left the game in the first half crying. After leaving the Nueva Olla stadium, in Paraguay, the Brazilian needed crutches to get around.
What is certain is that the midfielder will not be able to face Corinthians, next Sunday. The Fluminense delegation will travel directly to São Paulo, without passing through Rio de Janeiro, to prepare for the Brazilian game.
Revealed in Xerém, André is one of the main names in the Fluminense squad, being called up to the Brazilian team in the last few games. The midfielder is even seen as hope for a possible historic sale of the club in the transfer window in June. A serious injury could derail these plans.
