Four months before the elections and despite not having a sufficient parliamentary majority to be able to carry out constitutional reforms no consensus, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador will present this Monday, February 5, a initiative package key to strengthening his nation project known as the Fourth Transformation.

The president has accepted, in advance, that several of the initiatives that he will send to Congress have little or no chance to prosper because they have already been rejected by the opposition or even by the courts.
However, he has explained repeatedly that he will present them so that there is evidence that he supports them and to strengthen them as much as possible against future changes.
Before this package, López Obrador had sent to Congress 10 constitutional reforms of which only five were approved, according to Senate data. Among them, the creation of the National Guard, the revocation of the mandate and some social programs stand out.
The six-year term of the federal president will end on September 30so analysts consider that this is a way to mark the line to be followed by the Morena candidate, Claudia Sheinbaumthe favorite ahead of the June 2 elections.

President López Obrador will present his reform initiatives this Monday, February 5, within the framework of the 107th anniversary of the Mexican Constitution.
