Hospitals and universities will exchange knowledge, resources and best practices – El Financiero

The Christus Muguerza health system and the University of Monterrey (Udem) signed a collaboration agreement with the Children’s Hospital in San Antonio, Texas, which will allow medical students to have access to various educational initiatives, such as academic sessions aimed at exchange of knowledge, resources and best practices.

In addition to enriching their academic training, this association will promote the development of innovation and clinical research projects, thus contributing to the strengthening of the training of future pediatric specialists, the generation of knowledge in pediatric medicine and its corresponding scientific dissemination.

Horacio Garza Ghio, director of Christus Muguerza, said that this trilateral alliance demonstrates the commitment of the three institutions to put into service experiences, technology and willingness to advance innovation in pediatric care and clinical research for the benefit of patients. .

“Through this alliance we will reinforce the commitment that together with Udem we have to strengthen the quality medical training that we provide to future health professionals in this country, we will work in four aspects that are medical education, clinical research, innovation and care. of the pediatric patient,” he indicated.

For her part, Cris Daskevich, director of the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, highlighted that this collaboration includes, in addition to student doctors, other areas of medicine.

“I think there is an opportunity not only for our medical students but also for nursing and other allied professionals in the long term, this is a new beginning of collaboration and great learning together,” he said.

In that sense, the rector of the University of Monterrey, Mario Páez González, expressed that the signing of this agreement opens more learning options for students of Health Sciences schools.

“This agreement will allow us to increase international mobility, since our undergraduate and graduate students from the different schools of Health Sciences will have the opportunity to acquire clinical experiences and accompany professors of the different pediatric specialties so that they can learn the practical more innovative in the treatment of their patients,” he said.
