Rio – Two 19-year-old players, who play for the same Premier League club, were arrested by police in England last weekend, accused of participating in a rape. According to information from the English newspaper “The Sun”, they were eventually released after paying bail.
One of the players was accused of assault and being an accomplice to the act of rape. While the other was accused of having been the perpetrator of the rape itself. The players’ identities were not revealed. The crime would have happened last Friday night, with the complaint being made hours later.
According to the publication, the two players will await the process in freedom. The club has started investigations so that the “next steps” in relation to the case can be decided. It is not yet known whether or not the players will be removed.
