What changes will the INE apply for the second presidential debate?

Counselor Humphrey told the media that everything is ready for the second debate, which will take place at the Churubusco Studios facilities. Among the technical aspects that will change, she pointed out that, at the request of the candidatesthe following modifications were made:

What will the new format be like?

For the second presidential debate, the INE will implement the ‘Format B’which consists of a dynamic of citizen participation with questions recorded on videocollected in the 32 states of the country and in the cities of Los Angeles and Dallas, in the United States.


Both at the beginning and at the end of the debate, the candidates will have one minute each to make their presentation and closing. In addition, they will have a “time bag”, of three to five minutes, that they can use as they wish, that is, they will manage this time.

Likewise, it was specified that on this occasion only eight questions will be asked, unlike the first debate when just over 20 questions were asked. The discussion will be divided into four segments which, in turn, are subdivided into two blocks each. Each segment will group specific topics.

The second presidential debate will take place this Sunday, April 28 at 8:00 p.m..
