Is it borrowed? This is what we know about the owner of the Cybertruck driven by Samuel García – El Financiero

Samuel García, governor of Nuevo León, has been celebrating that he “brought” the Tesla gigafactory to Mexico; However, just over a year after the announcement, the only thing that Tesla has brought to the president is problems, and now more so with the revelation that is not the true owner of the Cybertruck that drives.

After the official appeared in the futuristic Tesla truck for a public event a month ago, and if that were not enough, he painted it orange in recent days in reference to the colors of his party, Citizen Movement, it was recently revealed that the truck Do not belong to you.

According to the newspaper El Norte, the truck belongs to Andrés Gerardo García Salazar, a renowned businessman in the transportation sector in Nuevo León and who is supposedly a neighbor and friend of Samuel García.

The situation even caused a complaint from the PAN at the local level, due to the alleged use of false documents for the truck, to which Samuel García responded by assuring that it is an issue that does not concern him and that everything is in order with said van.

The governor also said that the PAN act, which seeks to impeach him, only makes him think about the possibility of leaving the old politics behind and that the officials who are truly there dedicate themselves to fighting corruption.

The Cybertruck is a truck that Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, announced since 2019 in an event. The promise was that it was an indestructible vehicle, and although since 2020 it could be reserved for a price of 2 thousand dollars, it was not until the end of last year that the first models were delivered.

The truck that Samuel García drives is the first in Latin America, while the others are in the United States and other countries in Asia and Europe; However, it is expected that more models will arrive in the country as the months go by.

The Cybertruck costs just under 2 million pesosand although it remains exclusive because few models have been released, it is one of Tesla’s main bets in large markets such as China, where it will undertake a campaign to bring consumers closer, who have turned to local brands such as BYD.

In Mexico, Samuel García, showing off his closeness to Tesla, he supposedly promised the footballer André Pierre Gignac, who plays for the Tigres of the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (UANL), that the second Cybertruck that arrives in the country will be for him.
