Rio – Patrícia Poeta used social media to say goodbye to Rio Grande do Sul, where she presented the TV Globo program “Encontro”, after devastating floods hit the state. This Thursday (9), the journalist, who was born in Rio Grande do Sul, published an excerpt from the attraction and wrote a long text on Instagram.

“After four days presenting the ‘Encontro’ from here in Porto Alegre, live, I am leaving Rio Grande do Sul, but the teams obviously remain here following the situation of my compatriots from Rio Grande do Sul, also following this beautiful chain of gigantic solidarity that graduated, the most beautiful thing to see. I think the people of Rio Grande do Sul really need all of this, this valuable, voluntary work that I had the pleasure of witnessing in this sad, desolate scene here”, she said at the end of the program , this Thursday.

“We need this voluntary work, we need the security forces, we need the eyes of the public authorities to be able to provide assistance to people at this important moment, and more than that, to also help rebuild the state from now on. I leave here more proud than ever from my people”, said Patrícia.

In the caption of the publication, the journalist included an excerpt from the Rio Grande do Sul anthem and wrote a text afterwards. “Being a gaucho means never giving up, resisting in adversity. I never imagined seeing my Rio Grande do Sul the way I did. Only those who were here truly understood what happened. The deep pain”, began Patrícia Poeta. “Today, after four days of holding back, I cried listening to our anthem. The symbol of our eternal resistance, no matter what happens,” she continued.

“I’ll be able to tell my grandchildren that I was with heroes – not those who wear capes, but those who are tireless. The professionals and those who were once just residents and today are the soul and roots of Rio Grande do Sul. In the middle of the water, there was no distinction, just a human current of love and solidarity. Fear gave way to courage.

Hopeful, Patrícia believes in the reconstruction of Rio Grande do Sul. “My dear people, our lands are devastated, but the waters will recede and, once again, helping each other, we will rebuild our state, stronger, more courageous and much angrier. And now I say with certainty: more united. My heart will always be here, because I was born here, I was raised here and I became the woman I am to be able to run this big world, but my heart remains, today and always. !”, he concluded.
