Rio – Pedro Scooby, Lucas Chumbo and a team of surfers arrived in Rio Grande do Sul with jet-skis, this Monday (6) to help rescue people stranded due to heavy rains and flooding in the region. Through Stories on Instagram, one of the volunteers filmed while the group received instructions to pick up children from a school.
The giant wave surfers traveled by car from RJ to RS to take donations and help with their equipment and knowledge due to the sport.
On Sunday (3), Scooby gave details about the preparations for the trip. “I called some friends of mine who ride giant waves with me, they activated other guys too”, he said at the time. “With so many years of surfing and giant waves, we have a specialty in rescue, first aid and things like that. We’ve done a lot of courses and have given courses, so I’m available”, he concluded.
