Rio – A businessman from Pendotiba was arrested this Monday (6), suspected of running an internet distribution company that provided Wi-Fi to smoke shops in Morro do Cavalão, in Niterói, Metropolitan Region of Rio. According to investigators, the company also controlled cable TV services in the locality.
Before this action, the internet and clandestine TV signal supply company had already been targeted by the police in March 2021.
In the case in question, the company operated in the Ilha da Conceição neighborhood, in Niterói, where it operated at the service of a criminal association between drug traffickers and militiamen.
According to information, in addition to drug trafficking, the group was involved in the irregular distribution of cable TV and internet signal in the Cavalão Community, in the South Zone of the city.
Against the man, the police served an arrest warrant, resulting from an investigation carried out by the 77th DP (Icaraí). According to the agents, the company under investigation was already the target of another operation in March 2021, carried out by the 76th DP (Center) and which dismantled an association of drug traffickers and militiamen that operated on Conceição Island.
