Saint George’s Day will be celebrated with samba and feijoada in several regions of Rio | Fun

Rio – This Tuesday (23), people from Rio celebrate Saint George’s Day. The holiday in the state promises a lot of fun, filled with traditional feijoadas in honor of the Warrior Saint. Check out some of the events that promise to shake up the Rio Metropolitan Region.

11th edition of Trem do Choro

At 8:46 am this Tuesday (23rd) the Samba Train will gather at Central do Brasil. The departure of the train from the Saracuruna branch towards Olaria is scheduled for 11:09 am. There, the public will head to Travessa Pixinguinha and then to Praça Ramos Figueira – Reduto Pixinguinha. Along the way, there will be tributes to rhythm personalities. Entrance is the normal cost of the SuperVia ticket.

Saint George of Saint

Restaurants and bars in the gastronomic hub of Santa Teresa will promote the Circuito de Caldinhos, prepared with different ingredients and accompanied by a dose of cachaça, in addition to traditional feijoadas and many musical attractions.

Participating in the event, which started on Saturday (20), are Bar da Encruza, Adega do Pimenta, Bar do Mineiro, Armazém São Joaquim, Simply, Café do Alto, Mô Café, Nega Tereza Bar, Aprazível, Restaurante Térèze, Tribas, Favela Hype and Solar do Mirante.

Feijoada and samba at Unidos de Padre Miguel

The Vila Vintém school will celebrate with a super party. The festivities to celebrate the day of the patron saint of Red and White of the West Zone will begin at 8:30 am, with a mass of thanksgiving, in the school court. From 1pm onwards, the feijoada takes place accompanied by various attractions.

The opening is the responsibility of the PegaBlack group. Then there will be the show with Samba de Caboclo. Soon after, UPM will present its official team for its debut in the Special Group and a great show with Boi Vermelho segments will conclude the event.

Entry including feijoada costs just R$25 and R$10 without feijoada. Members with a school card do not pay until 3pm.

Viradouro welcomes Portela

Viradouro will promote, from 2pm, the traditional feijoada on the school court, with several attractions, including Portela. At the event, Mestre Ciça, leader of the drums of the current Carnival champion, will welcome Nilo Sérgio from Porto and the rhythmists from Tabajara do Samba. The program also includes shows by Grupo Arruda and singer Mariana Braga, as well as DJ Fernando Falcão.

Tickets cost R$30 and can be purchased in advance at the court secretary, located at Avenida do Contorno, 16, in Barreto, Niterói. The feijoada dish, served until 5pm, costs R$ 25. The age rating is 6 years old, with minors accompanied by guardians.

‘Queen’s Feijoada’

Imperatriz Leopoldinense will honor Saint George’s Day with a party on the court with a feijoada and Mumuzinho show. In addition to the singer, there will be the sound of DJ Peyper, from Grupo Segura Nega, and a performance by Pagode do Mestre Lolo and all the green, white, and gold segments of the Leopoldina Zone.

The tables for the event are already sold out, and the boxes available in the last units. Gates open at 1pm, and tickets are sold via the SYMPLA platform. The Imperatriz Leopoldinense court is at Rua Professor Lacé, 235, in Ramos.

United States of Vila Isabel

Unidos de Vila Isabel will welcome Jorge Aragão in honor of Saint Warrior Day, in addition to the groups Galocantô and Bom Gosto, and DJ Bacalhau. The single track costs R$20 and the double track costs R$35. Tickets are sold on the SYMPLA website.

Feijoada do Guerreiro

Mingo Silva, André Jamaica and Cozinha da Rosa get together to make a feijoada with lots of Axé! It will be at Rua Nicaragua, 26, in Itaipu, Niterói, next to Colégio Plus. The feijoada starts at 1pm and the samba at 3pm. The event with feijoada and samba costs R$50 in advance and R$60 on the day of the event.

The group is made up of Bruno Campos, on guitar, Daniel Boechat, on percussion, Philipe Ornelas, on cavaquinho, and Raphael Lagoas, also on percussion.

Labrise Beach Club

Starting at 12pm this Tuesday, the Labrise Beach Club, in Piratininga, Niterói, will serve a feijoada with everything it deserves: prime meats, cabbage, pork rinds, cassava, pumpkin puree, farofa, orange and rice. The cost is R$120 for two people or R$70 for an individual.

In addition to the special food, the space will promote a show by Niteroi singer Lira, with his repertoire of classics from the Brazilian Northeast, such as Alceu Valença, Geraldo Azevedo, João do Vale, Zé Ramalho, among others.

Zeca Pagodinho Bar

The units in Vogue Square, Barra da Tijuca, Jacarepaguá and Nova Iguaçu will celebrate the date with an all-you-can-eat feijoada buffet, open beer bar and much more. All to the sound of lots of music. Events start at 1pm.

Bar do Zeca Pagodinho welcomes the group Vou pro Sereno with the opening of Grupo Arruda at the Vogue Square unit; the band Caju pra Baixo with Gabriel da Mocidade opening in Jacarepaguá; and the band Pique Novo with the group Só Hoje opening in Nova Iguaçu.

Feijoada do Bola

Cordão do Bola Preta promotes a great feijoada, with lots of music and the participation of Tia Surica, honorary president of Portela. The event takes place between 12pm and 6pm at the Bola Preta headquarters, which is located at Rua da Recção, 3, in the center of Rio.
