São Jorge holiday will have special programming in Barra Mansa | Barra Mansa – News, photos and videos

Barra Mansa – A varied program will mark the São Jorge Holiday (April 23), in Barra Mansa. One of the events is the procession in honor of the Warrior Saint. The event is held by the City Hall, through the Culture Foundation, organized by the Confraria dos Ogans, with one of its objectives being the regularization of terreiros in the south of the state, in addition to representing the fight against religious intolerance. The saint is the patron saint of the state of Rio de Janeiro, along with São Sebastião.

The gathering will be at 9 am, at Calçadão Dama do Samba, in the Center. Then, at 11:30 am, the procession will begin. From 2pm onwards, the shows will begin, also at Calçadão Dama do Samba, which will last until the evening. There will also be a collection of non-perishable food for donations.

-11:30 am: Celebration of Saint George followed by a procession through the city center
-2pm: Samba in tribute – Grupo Toada
-5pm: ISN Group
-8pm: Kimanero Group
