Jockey Tyler Schiller knows that Saturday’s Rosehill program is where form collides as some horses drop back from carnival races and others try to establish themselves at the next level.
That is reflected in Schiller’s book. He is aboard a favourite in Premise, which was on the placegetters in the Aspiration Quality and Epona Stakes, an up-and-comer Miss Hades, which has won four of her six appearances, and perhaps a surprise packet, Eagle Nest, which drops back to benchmark grade.

“Premise gets in well and I think at 1800m she will be well suited,” Schiller said. “It’s a good drop in class for a mare like her, and she gets in with just 54 kilos.
“Those horses coming out of stakes company during the carnival certainly have an advantage if they hold their form at this time of year.
“I look at Premise and Eagle Nest; they get into races on the limit and feel like good rides to me.
“I think Eagle Nest won in this type of company back in the spring, and dropping back to 1100m, she is certainly an improver. I rode her in a barrier trial at the start of the prep and I thought she was up to Saturday and maybe a bit better.”
On the other hand, Schiller sticks with the Gary Portelli-trained Miss Hades earlier in the afternoon after he won on the daughter of Hellbent when resuming at Gosford.
“She was off the bridle all the way but found a way to win,” Schiller said. “Gary said she is one of those horses that can keep finding and surprise you, and she did at Gosford.
“She is going to be fitter for that run, and, if she has progressed, she can certainly measure up to a Saturday race with no weight.”
