CHICAGO — Tom Skilling received another honor Monday as Chicagoans voted for a snowplow to be named after him in the second annual contest.
“Skilling It” received the most votes out of the 50 entries, the Department of Streets and Sanitation told WGN News.
The following six names won and will be installed on snowplows operating across the city.
- Skilling It
- CTRL-SALT-DELETE
- Casimir Plowaski
- Ernie Snowbanks
- Mies van der Snow
- Bad, Bad Leroy Plow
“We are so appreciative of the many Chicagoans who submitted their creative and entertaining snowplow names, many of which reflect the Chicago pride we know so well,” said DSS Commissioner Cole Stallard. “We enjoyed managing this contest again in 2024 and tallying up the thousands of voting responses we received for the 50 finalists.”
The city received nearly 10,000 votes.
Tom had a busy Friday by helping Woodstock Willie predict an early spring and then rubbing elbows with Bill Murray.
